Women's Studies Center holds the third international scientific lecture entitled " Doing Research under Occupation –Knowledge Production in and about Palestine"

Women's Studies Center (WSC) at IUG organized  the third international scientific lecture entitled " Doing Research under Occupation –Knowledge Production in and about Palestine" in cooperation with the University of Graz (UniGraz) in Austria Via Skype within the framework of the APPEAR funded project titled: Strengthening Higher Education Capacities in Palestine for Gender Equality – (SHE_GE). The lecture was presented by Dr. Helmet Krieger - University of Vienna, Austria, and participated by students form UniGraz.

From IUG the lecture was attended by the SHE-GE team, WSC team and number of faculty members and graduate students who interested in gender.


Where this scientific meeting focused on reviewing the rich experience of one of the projects carried out by the APPear program in Palestine "Rooting Development in the Palestinian"

The meeting focused on answering the following questions: How can gender-based research influence the political, social and economic situation of Palestinians? Why should scientific research be conducted from a gender perspective? Who is researching? Who will benefit from the research? Who can build on the results? What are the ethical responsibilities we carry towards the target communities? Who will benefit from this scientific research? The meeting included dialogues and involvements between participants in both universities.
